(Worthy News) – Famous evangelist Nick Vujicic said his team witnessed 400,000 people repent for their sins and choose to follow Jesus Christ at a recent event in Ukraine. That was the largest response that the Life Without Limbs ministry has seen.

“The biggest event that our team at Life Without Limbs has seen and maybe the largest event ever in Europe – 800,000 people in the streets of Kyiv Ukraine! Thank you God,” Vujicic wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

(Worthy News) – A federal appeals court gave the go-ahead Thursday to activists seeking to overturn California’s 145-year ban on commercial sex.

A three-judge panel of 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said the plaintiffs’ legal challenge against the ban may proceed.

The plainitiffs say the current law violates the right to engage in consensual sex, as described in a 2003 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that revoked criminal laws against gay sexual acts, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. [ Source: Fox News (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – The Iran nuclear deal failed to permanently cut off Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon, as well as thwart its Middle East terror activities, CIA Director Mike Pompeo said at a conference Thursday.

US President Donald Trump had concluded the deal had only delayed Iran’s nuclear program, and that “the notion that entry” into the deal “would curtail Iranian adventurism, the terror threat, proved to be fundamentally false.”

Pompeo was being interviewed on stage by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance chairman Juan Zarate, just days after Trump decertified Iran’s compliance with the deal in a major speech. [ Source: Jerusalem Post (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – North Korea could acquire the ability to deliver a nuclear weapon to the United States within “months,” a top American spy official said Thursday.

“It is the case that they are close enough now in their capabilities that from a U.S. policy perspective, we ought to behave as if we are on the cusp of them achieving that objective,” Pompeo said during a question-and-answer session hosted by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

“When you’re now talking about months, our capacity to understand that at the detailed level is in some sense irrelevant,” he said. “Whether it happens on Tuesday or a month from Tuesday, we are at a time where the president has concluded that we need a global effort to ensure that Kim Jong Un doesn’t have that capacity.” [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – At least 120 demonstrators were arrested in Israel on Thursday as several thousand ultra-Orthodox Jews blocked a major intersection in central Jerusalem to protest against efforts to force them to enlist in the Israeli military like their secular compatriots.

A series of such protests in recent weeks has been spurred by occasional arrests of ultra-Orthodox young men accused of dodging military service.

On Thursday, several thousand men and boys wearing traditional black suits and hats took to the streets of Jerusalem, at one point blocking a key intersection.

(Worthy News) – The Israeli military says it has struck Syria in response to a mortar fired from the territory.

The military says it “targeted the source of the fire” on Thursday but declined to say what it hit. Earlier in the day, the military said a mortar fell in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, what that it was believed to be errant fire from the civil war.

(Worthy News) – Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards on Thursday threatened a “relentless fight” against Israel, a day after the US urged the international community to confront Tehran over its “destructive conduct” across the Middle East.

“We will continue the relentless fight against the hegemonic system and Zionism more resolutely and powerfully than before and… will not hesitate a moment in defending the Islamic Revolution and the country’s national interests,” the IRGC said in a statement published by the semi-official Fars news agency.

(Worthy News) – A new scientific study has found “dramatic” and “alarming” declines in insect populations in areas in Germany, which researchers say could have far-reaching consequences for the world’s crop production and natural ecosystems.

The study, published on Wednesday in peer-reviewed journal PLOS One has found that, in German nature reserves, flying insect populations have declined by more than 75% over the duration of the 27-year study.

“The flying insect community as a whole… has been decimated over the last few decades,” said the study, which was conducted by Researchers from Radboud University in the Netherlands and the Entomological Society Krefeld in Germany. [ Source: CNN (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – Storm Brian is expected to batter Britain’s coast just days after Storm Ophelia wreaked destruction. Heavy rain and gusts of 50mph are expected across southern England and the west of Wales on Saturday, and winds could reach 70mph in exposed areas.

The wild weather, caused by a “weather bomb” over the Atlantic Ocean, may cause coastal flooding and affect transport, the Met Office said.

(Worthy News) – Six police officers in Pakistan have been arrested and charged with murder after they allegedly beat to death a Pakistani Christian teenager earlier this month, according to human rights advocates.

The London-based charity British Pakistani Christian Association reported that the six officers accused of killing 17-year-old Arslan Masih in the town of Sheikhupura in the Punjab province of Pakistan have been charged under sections 148, 149 and 302 of the Pakistani penal code.

Masih, who was a student at Ideal Science Academy, reportedly got into a fight with a Muslim bully when the bully pressured him to convert to Islam. According to BPCA, Masih won the fight. However, the Muslim bully’s uncle was a local police officer. [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]
