(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party approved on Sunday evening a proposal requiring party members to act to annex Judea and Samaria.

The vote was called by Likud activists residing in the West Bank who obtained around 900 signatures of the party’s Central Committee which allows the resolution to be presented, circumventing party leader consent.

The resolution reads: “Fifty years after the liberation of Judea and Samaria, and with them Jerusalem our eternal capital, the Likud Central Committee calls on Likud’s elected leaders to work to allow unhindered construction and to extend Israeli law and sovereignty in all areas of liberated settlement in Judea and Samaria.”

Hamas calls US ambassador ‘racist,’ says all ties should be cut with DC

(Worthy News) – The Palestinians should cut all ties with the United States because of “racist” and “ignorant” comments US Ambassador David Friedman made to The Jerusalem Post last week, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said on Saturday.

Friedman, a driving force behind US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the embassy there from Tel Aviv, told the Post that while the Palestinians’ angry reaction was expected, “we were disappointed with some of the rhetoric, which was ugly, needlessly provocative and antisemitic.”

“As we go forward,” he added, “this has to change.” [ Source: Jerusalem Post (Read More…) ]

“I think the protests are not going to end soon. It seems to me that we are witnessing the beginning of a big protest movement that can go well beyond the Green wave of 2009. It would not surprise me if it becomes something bigger,” said Ebadi to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

A third night of unrest in Iran saw mass demonstrations across the country in which two people were killed, dozens arrested and public buildings attacked. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – Thousands of Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza and the occupied West Bank for the fourth Friday in a row in protests against U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Palestinian health officials said at least 50 protesters had been wounded by live fire, mostly along the Gaza border. An Israeli military spokeswoman said soldiers had shot at the “main instigators” who she said posed a direct threat to the troops and who were trying to damage the border security fence.

The spokeswoman said about 4,000 Palestinians across the West Bank and Gaza, some throwing rocks and fire bombs and setting tires alight, confronted Israeli soldiers who responded mainly by firing tear gas. [ Source: Reuters (Read More…) ]
