(Worthy News) – The Kansas Republican party has voted to pass a resolution that opposes “all efforts to validate transgender identity” and supports “God’s design for gender as determined by biological sex and not by self-perception.”

At a time when both political parties are using extreme caution in the transgender debate, it may be the first state party to take such a stand says Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies for the Family Research Council in Washington.

(Worthy News) – The era of the American aircraft carrier as the premier embodiment of military might could be ending unless the U.S. develops defenses for the next generation of highly maneuverable, super-fast hypersonic weapons under development by Russia and China, the Pentagon’s top weapons researcher said Tuesday.

Michael Griffin, undersecretary of defense for research and engineering, said China is spending billions to develop a non-nuclear version of the weapons that could render U.S. aircraft carriers vulnerable to attack.

(Worthy News) – The Department of Justice is taking action against the state of California — including Gov. Jerry Brown and Attorney General Xavier Becerra — for three laws they say obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration law.

The Justice Department’s lawsuit — expected to be filed Tuesday night in the Eastern District of California — is asking for Assembly Bill 450, Senate Bill 54, and Assembly Bill 103 to be nullified.

Justice Department officials explained ahead of the filing that the three laws — which were all passed within the past year — are pre-empted by federal law and therefore violate the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution. [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – A comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians will require compromise from both sides, leading voices from the Trump administration told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee this week.

Speaking at the organization’s annual conference in Washington, US Vice President Mike Pence said administration officials were working with determination to prepare Trump’s peace plan.

(Worthy News) – President Trump said on Tuesday said “the world is watching” North Korea after the regime promised not to use nuclear or conventional weapons against Seoul and expressed a willingness to hold talks with the United States on denuclearization.

President Trump tweeted hours after South Korea’s presidential national security director, Chung Eui-yong, released a statement detailing his rare two-day visit to North Korea. He praised the “possible progress” but remained cautious.

“Possible progress being made in talks with North Korea. For the first time in many years, a serious effort is being made by all parties concerned. The World is watching and waiting! (Worthy News) – After a heated floor debate, the Senate on Tuesday passed a bill 35-14 to ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, bringing the state one step closer to enacting the most restrictive abortion ban in the country.

In a statement Gov. Phil Bryant reiterated his support for the measure.
