Mexico reportedly will create its own border force

(Worthy News) – Mexico’s president-elect has complained about President Trump’s immigration policies, but he’s looking to adopt some them for his country, a top aide said.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is planning his own border force to stop illegal immigrants and drugs crossing into Mexico from Central America, Alfonso Durazo, his chief of public security, told Bloomberg.

Mr. Durazo said the border force would also patrol the U.S.-Mexico line, though he declined to give Bloomberg more details. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

U.S. Seeks to Thwart Iran Flying Millions in Cash Out of Germany

(Worthy News) – Top Trump administration officials are working to stop Germany from allowing Iran to fly more than $350 million in cash out of the country and back to Tehran as part of a bid by the Iranian regime to restock its coffers ahead of a major financial crackdown by America, according to conversations with senior U.S. diplomats and officials on Capitol Hill.

The Trump administration is already working to stop the German government from allowing this transfer following weekend reports that Iran is poised to fly around 300 million Euros out of the country as part of an ongoing scheme to skirt tough new U.S. economic sanctions, which were put back into effect after President Donald Trump decided to abandon the landmark nuclear deal. Judge Kavanaugh’s long Washington history gives Senate much to review

(Worthy News) – Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh has perhaps the longest Washington pedigree of any of the people who were on President Trump’s short list for the Supreme Court, having worked at the highest levels of the White House under President George W. Bush.

He clerked for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy — the man he now seeks to succeed — and served on special counsel Kenneth W. Starr’s team in the 1990s.

That long history will give the Senate plenty to review as it looks to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the high court. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

Trump taps Brett Kavanaugh for Supreme Court

(Worthy News) – President Trump nominated federal appeals court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court Monday night, setting up a furious partisan confirmation battle as he seeks to move the high court firmly under conservatives’ control for decades to come.

In a prime-time announcement at the White House, the president tapped Judge Kavanaugh of the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit after a 12-day whirlwind search to replace the retiring Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.

Judge Kavanaugh, 53, has served on the appeals court since 2006, ruling on some of the nation’s most high-profile cases on a court that is considered a steppingstone to the Supreme Court. He is a favorite of the conservative Washington legal establishment. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

China dominates armed-drone market by selling to customers in terrorist hotbeds

(Worthy News) – China’s no-rules approach to armed drone exports has Beijing positioned to dominate the rapidly growing multibillion-dollar market, frustrating American companies while presenting real national security dangers for the Trump administration.

Behind the scenes, industry watchers say, the Trump administration is scrambling to fashion a coherent policy toward military unmanned aerial systems (UAS) sales that allows American firms to tap the huge international demand for drones while ensuring that state-of-the-art weapons don’t fall into the wrong hands.

By contrast, China has shown itself willing to sell to just about anyone, including customers in terrorist hotbeds such as Pakistan, threatening to render America’s policy scruples obsolete. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
