US ambassador to NATO threatens to ‘take out’ Russian cruise missile

(Worthy News) – The U.S. ambassador to NATO put Russia “on notice” Tuesday, threatening to destroy an intermediate-range missile that sits well within range of NATO allies.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, during a news conference in Brussels, cited Russia’s development of an intermediate-range cruise missile, which is in violation of the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

“Getting them to withdraw [the missile] would be our choice, of course,” Hutchison said. “But I think the question was what would you do if this continues to a point where we know that they are capable of delivering. And at that point we would then be looking at a capability to take out a missile that could hit any of our countries in Europe and hit America in Alaska.” [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]

Pro-Lifers Praise California Gov. for Vetoing Bill to Give College Girls Abortion Drugs on Campus

(Worthy News) – Christian conservatives and pro-life advocates are praising California’s Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown for his veto of a bill that would have required all state universities to provide access to abortion-inducing drugs.

Brown vetoed SB 320, also known as the “College Student Right to Access Act,” on Sunday. The bill would have required health centers at the 34 University of California or California State University campuses to offer abortion pills (RU-486) to students so they could terminate their pregnancies in their dorm rooms, and abortion clinics wouldn’t have to incur the cost of bio-hazard waste disposal following the student’s abortion.

If enacted, the bill would have taken effect in 2020. Although the bill passed the Senate in January, Brown reasoned that such a requirement is not needed. [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]

Russia completes delivery of S-300 air defense system to Syria

(Worthy News) – Russia said Tuesday it had completed delivering its S-300 advanced anti-aircraft system to Syria, weeks after it blamed Israel for the downing of one of its spy planes by a less-sophisticated Syrian air defense missile.

Israel has warned that providing the system to Damascus is “irresponsible” and will expose the region to more danger.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin that 49 pieces of equipment for the system had been delivered, according to the state-run Interfax news agency. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

UN court to rule on Iran bid to halt US nuclear sanctions

(Worthy News) – The UN’s top court will rule Wednesday on Iran’s bid to suspend crippling US sanctions reimposed by US President Donald Trump after he pulled out of the international nuclear deal with Tehran.

Israeli official: S-300 delivery to Syria ‘a complex challenge’ for Israel

(Worthy News) – A senior Israeli official said that Russia’s decision to provide advanced anti-aircraft systems to Syria posed a serious challenge for the Jewish state, but added that Israel was working on ways to prevent the development from becoming a major threat to the country’s security.

“The S-300 is a complex challenge for the State of Israel. We are dealing with the [decision] in different ways, not necessarily by preventing shipment [of the anti-aircraft system],” the official said.

The official added that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin understands that while Moscow “made a move, the playing field is very large,” indicating that Israel reserved the right to protect itself and that it had the support of the United States. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Poll finds Israelis extremely, and near uniquely, supportive of Trump, US policy

(Worthy News) – Israelis have an extremely positive view of US President Donald Trump and his administration, and are largely isolated in this outlook in the international community, a survey by the Pew Research Center shows.

The poll of America’s standing in 25 countries, published Monday, shows 82 percent of Jewish Israelis have confidence in Trump’s handling of global affairs (69% among Israelis overall) while 94% of Jewish Israelis have a favorable view of the US in general (83% overall).

Israeli approval of the US and its president was not widely shared in other countries surveyed, where ratings were generally at historic lows: Views of Washington are dim — and falling — in many nations which are key allies of the US, including Germany (30% favorability), Canada (39%) and France (38%). The UK was evenly split at 50%. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Meanwhile, the US has cut the number of Muslim refugees by even greater margins. In the fiscal year 2018, just 3,495 entered the US, compared to 22,861 in the fiscal year 2017 and 38,900 in the fiscal year 2016. [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]

House Passes ‘Family Savings Act’: Savings Plan Bill for Unborn Children Goes to Senate

(Worthy News) – While the nation was riveted with the testimonies of Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh last week, the US House of Representatives was busy passing a legislative package known as “Tax Reform 2.0.”

The legislation included in the package is the Family Savings Act of 2018 (H.R. 6757). US Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, introduced it last month. The new legislation contains many of the same provisions as a bipartisan bill previously introduced by Rep. Kelly.
