(Worthy News) – President Trump’s longtime “fixer” Michael Cohen pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of lying to Congress and now says the president’s business empire was pursuing a deal with Russia even during the heart of the 2016 presidential campaign as that country was trying to interfere in the election.

In a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller, Cohen admitted he misled lawmakers last year when he told them his attempts on behalf of the Trump Organization to build a Trump Tower in Russia ended in January 2016 and that he never talked about having Mr. Trump travel to Moscow.

In court documents filed Thursday, though, Cohen said his efforts on what was known as the “Moscow project” lasted at least until June 2016, he planned a Moscow trip for himself and was working on one for Mr. Trump for later that year, possibly after Mr. Trump claimed the Republican presidential nomination at the party’s national convention. (Worthy News) – President Trump called for special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation to “be ended immediately” Thursday evening.

In a tweet, Trump quoted Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who had just made an appearance on Fox News.

“Alan Dershowitz: ‘These are not crimes. He (Mueller) has no authority to be a roving Commissioner. I don’t see any evidence of crimes.’ This is an illegal Hoax that should be ended immediately. Mueller refuses to look at the real crimes on the other side. Where is the IG REPORT?” Trump tweeted after landing in Argentina, where he will attend the G-20 summit. (Worthy News) – Moscow will soon deploy more of its advanced S-400 air defense systems in Russian-annexed Crimea, a military official said Wednesday, amid rising tensions with Ukraine.

The RIA Novosti news agency reported it would be in place by the end of the year, joining three other S-400 systems already on the peninsula, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014.

“In the near future, a new anti-aircraft system will take up combat duty to protect the airspace of the Russian Federation,” Colonel Vadim Astafiyev of Russia’s southern military district told news agency Interfax. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – Evangelicals in Brazil grew from 6.6 percent in 1980 to 22.2 percent in 2010, according to the 2010 census. Today, evangelicals constitute an estimated 27 percent of Brazil’s population. By comparison, American evangelicals make up about 25 percent of the religious landscape in the United States, according to the Pew Research Center.

Like their U.S. cousins, Brazil’s evangelicals have become a political force to be reckoned with. The evangelical caucus in Brazil’s congress is among the largest with nearly 200 members. Overwhelming evangelical support for Jair Bolsonaro is widely credited for his presidential victory last October.

(Worthy News) – NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine says the U.S. is within 10 years of having a continuous manned presence on the moon, which will lay the groundwork for expanding space exploration to Mars.

“Right now we’re building a space station, we call it ‘Gateway,’ that’s going to be in orbit around the moon — think of it as a reusable command module where we can have human presence in orbit around the moon. From there we want reusable landers that go back and forth to the surface of the moon,” Bridenstine told Hill.TV’s Jamal Simmons and Buck Sexton on “Rising.”

(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump will not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the upcoming Group of 20 summit in Argentina later this week.

Initially, Trump told reporters he “probably” would be meeting with his Russian counterpart.

(Worthy News) – The Israeli military this week concluded a combined urban and ‎tunnel warfare exercise simulating fighting in the Gaza Strip. The ‎IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said the drill, the 11th of its kind to be held ‎this year, was part of the military’s routine wartime ‎readiness program. ‎

But according to official, the timing of the drill, just two ‎weeks after the the worst flare-up on the Israel-Gaza Strip ‎border since 2014, ‎as well as the fact that it included extreme case scenarios, was meant as a message to Hamas, the terrorist group that rules Gaza. ‎

(Worthy News) – The European Union agreed to support a US-sponsored United Nations General Assembly resolution condemning Hamas, following negotiations with Washington, diplomats said Thursday.

The draft resolution will likely be voted on in the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, an official in Israel’s mission to the UN told The Times of Israel on Thursday.

(Worthy News) – The US Army is investing millions of dollars in experimental exoskeleton technology to make soldiers stronger and more resilient, in what experts say is part of a broader push into advanced gear to equip a new generation of “super-soldiers”.

The technology is being developed by Lockheed Martin Corp with a license from Canada-based B-TEMIA, which first developed the exoskeletons to help people with mobility difficulties stemming from medical ailments like multiple sclerosis and severe osteoarthritis.
