(Worthy News) – A “snaketivity” gifted by the Chicago branch of the Satanic Temple stands in the Illinois Capitol rotunda this month alongside a nativity scene and a menorah.

House Republicans Got Hacked During the 2018 Campaign, FBI Investigating

(Worthy News) – The National Republican Congressional Committee said Tuesday that it was hit with a “cyber intrusion” during the 2018 midterm campaigns and has reported the breach to the FBI.

The committee provided few details about the incident, but said the intrusion was conducted by an “unknown entity.”

“The cybersecurity of the committee’s data is paramount, and upon learning of the intrusion, the NRCC immediately launched an internal investigation and notified the FBI, which is now investigating the matter,” spokesman Ian Prior said in a statement. “To protect the integrity of that investigation, the NRCC will offer no further comment on the incident.” [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]

Israel to protest Hezbollah tunnels as violation of U.N. resolution

(Worthy News) – Israel will submit a protest to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the president of the Security Council, which this month is held by Cote d’Ivoire, against aggressive actions emanating from Lebanon, the Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday, soon after the IDF operation to destroy Hezbollah terror tunnels began.

The ministry has also instructed its representatives abroad to stress that the digging of these tunnels constitutes an aggressive action, is a clear violation of Israeli sovereignty, and an additional violation of Security Council resolutions 1559 and 1701.

Resolution 1559, passed in 2004, called for all foreign forces to withdraw from Lebanon and for the “disbanding and disarmament of all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias.”

And resolution 1701, which put an end to the Second Lebanon War in 2006, called upon the government of Lebanon to assert its authority and control throughout the country, in respect of the international boundary between Israel and Lebanon – and for UNIFIL to do what it must to ensure that southern Lebanon is not utilized for hostile activities.

High Court asked to block $150 m. transfer to Hamas

(Worthy News) – Gaza border community residents represented by Shurat Hadin requested on Monday that the High Court of Justice block the transfer of $150 million in funds to Hamas that is expected soon.

Israel does not transfer funds to Hamas, but it has allowed Qatar to transfer the funds to pay Hamas-affiliated persons’ salaries and for rebuilding destroyed areas, starting with a $15 million transfer in November.

In a complex geopolitical game, Israel agreed to allow the transfers to avoid an economic deterioration in Gaza that would lead to a broader war. This comes during a time period when PA President Mahmoud Abbas has frozen or delayed payments to Hamas over internal Palestinian disputes. [ Source: Jerusalem Post (Read More…) ]

U.K. Parliament delivers rebuke to government over Brexit

(Worthy News) – The British government received a historic rebuke from lawmakers on Tuesday over its Brexit plans — an inauspicious sign for Prime Minister Theresa May as she opened an epic debate in Parliament that will decide the fate of her divorce deal with the European Union.

Legislators in the House of Commons found the government in contempt of Parliament for refusing to publish in full the advice it had received from the country’s top law officer about the terms of Britain’s departure from the EU.

The vote has little direct impact on the Brexit debate, but reflects mounting tension between the government and Parliament over the next steps in the U.K.’s exit. The reprimand, by 311 votes to 293, marks the first time a British government has been found in contempt of Parliament. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

Trump’s impromptu China trade deal unravels

(Worthy News) – Skepticism mounted Tuesday about President Trump’s impromptu trade agreement with the president of China, as Mr. Trump threatened new penalties against Beijing if the deal falls through. Stock markets plummeted.

White House officials acknowledged that China hasn’t fully committed to eliminate auto tariffs, as Mr. Trump announced Sunday in a tweet. Officials downplayed expectations about reaching a broader trade deal that would end the tariff war.

Declaring himself “Tariff Man,” Mr. Trump warned China to make a trade deal — or else. He said negotiations already were underway on the commitments made with Chinese President Xi Jinping over dinner Saturday during the Group of 20 summit in Argentina. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
