North Korea Covertly Building Missiles, Nuclear Arms at Civilian Sites

(Worthy News) – North Korea is covertly developing and testing nuclear arms and ballistic missiles at civilian facilities in a bid to prevent a “decapitation” military strike against its weapons plants and storage depots, according to a report by a UN panel of experts.

Additionally, the Security Council panel stated in the experts’ latest report that North Korea engaged in “massive” illegal transfers of oil and coal in violation of sanctions designed to punish Pyongyang for nuclear and missile development.

“The nuclear and ballistic missile programs of [North Korea] remain intact and the country continues to defy Security Council resolutions through a massive increase in illegal ship-to-ship transfers of petroleum products and coal,” the report, made public this week, said. Measles, once eradicated from the US, reported in 12 states

(Worthy News) – Measles cases have cropped up across 12 states over the last ten weeks — nearly two decades since the highly contagious disease was said to be eradicated in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Some 228 measles cases were reported to the CDC in the U.S. between Jan. 1 and March 7, more than half of the 372 cases that were reported during all of 2018. Outbreaks, defined as three or more cases, have been reported in six areas: Washington, New York City, New York’s Rockland County, Texas, Illinois and California.

There’s been a resurgence in the disease in the U.S. and other developed countries amid increasing resistance from parents to vaccinate their children. Measles is highly contagious, infecting up to 90 percent of unvaccinated people who are exposed to an infected person, the CDC said. [ Source: CNBC (Read More…) ]

Kentucky Becomes 16th Permitless Gun-Carry State

(Worthy News) – Kentucky became the latest state to adopt a permitless gun-carry system when Republican governor Matt Bevin signed Senate Bill 150 into law on Monday.

The law will allow anyone who is over the age of 21 to legally carry a concealed firearm on their person so long as they are legally allowed to possess a firearm under state and federal law. It eliminates the state’s previous permitting system as well as the training requirements and fees associated with it. Kentucky is now the 16th state to adopt permitless carry, often called “constitutional carry,” and the third to do so this year.

South Dakota adopted permitless carry at the end of January and Oklahoma did so at the end of February. Kentucky’s senate passed their permitless-carry bill by a vote of 29-8 while the house passed it by a vote of 60-37. Gov. Bevin said the law merely recognizes constitutionally protected rights in his opinion. [ Source: Washington Free Beacon (Read More…) ]
