Iran Continues Quest for Nukes in Spite of International Agreements

by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – The Iranian quest for nuclear weapons continues unabated, according to Olli Heinonen, former director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that monitors nuclear developments worldwide.

Speaking with Israeli Army Radio Wednesday morning, Heinonen suggested that in spite of Trump’s crushing sanctions on Iranian oil and metals and his decision to withdraw the US from Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)–which left Iran’s nuclear infrastructure intact but secured guarantees from the Iranians that they would not enrich uranium beyond 3.76%– the Islamic Republic has likely gone ahead with its nuclear ambitions anyway, only this time under cover of international diplomacy.

“The Ayatollahs can handle the new sanctions, and in the meantime, they’re making new centrifuges,” he claimed, going on to say that the regime’s neighbors were not as aware as they ought to be of its intentions for the region.

“Israelis need to be worried, and the Gulf states also have reason for concern.”

A meeting of Saudi officials and other Gulf Arab states this month, along with investigations by U.S. intelligence officers determined that recent attacks on two Saudi oil liners and a drone attack on a Saudi oil pipeline were the result of aggression by Iranian regional proxies.

Iran could make nuclear weapon in 6-8 months, says former IAEA deputy

(Worthy News) – A former deputy head of the UN’s atomic watchdog said Wednesday that Iran is capable of producing a nuclear bomb in six to eight months.

In an interview with Israel’s Army Radio, Olli Heinonen said that Israel and the Gulf states “have a reason to worry.”

Heinonen said that despite assertions to the contrary by the current leadership of the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency, which he left in 2010, Tehran has not been adhering to the 2015 nuclear deal.

“Iran is actually weaponizing uranium enrichment without making a weapon,” he claimed. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Republican, Democratic Senators Seek to Block Trump Saudi Arms Sales

(Worthy News) – Republican and Democratic US senators said on Wednesday they would try to pass 22 separate joint resolutions that, if passed, would block President Donald Trump’s plan to complete $8 billion in military sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates without congressional review.

Backers said the introduction of the resolutions was intended to “protect and reaffirm Congress’ role of approving arms sales to foreign governments.”

The announcement followed furious rejection in Congress late last month of the Trump administration’s declaration that a growing threat from Iran was an emergency that forced it to sidestep lawmakers’ review of major arms deals and approve precision-guided munitions, aircraft engines, mortars and other equipment and services for Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Jordan. Judicial Watch: New Emails Show FBI Gave Special Treatment to Clinton’s Demands Just Before Election

(Worthy News) – In its ongoing investigation of the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email case and the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, Judicial Watch revealed this week that new emails — obtained through their Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Justice Department — show that the FBI moved swiftly to meet the demands of Clinton’s lawyer to provide him with its investigative documents on Clinton just two months prior to the 2016 election.

“These incredible documents show the leadership of the FBI rushed to give Hillary Clinton her FBI interview report shortly before the election,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement.

“And the documents also show the FBI failed to timely document interviews in the Clinton email ‘matter’ – further confirming the whole investigation was a joke,” said Fitton. “AG Barr can’t reopen the Clinton email investigation soon enough.” [ Source: CNS News (Read More…) ]
