Israel Shuts Down 30 BDS Financial Accounts After Revealing Terror Ties

(Worthy News) – Israel’s Strategic Affairs Ministry said Monday it has been secretly targeting the financial accounts of organizations that promote the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against the Jewish state by uncovering their links to terror networks.

The ministry’s campaign has led to the closure of at least 30 fundraising accounts — 10 in the United States and 20 in Europe.

“For years, boycott promoters have disguised themselves as ‘human rights activists,’ managing to raise tens of millions of euros from Western countries and citizens who thought they were contributing to causes supporting justice and equality,” Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan said in a statement. “Over time though, we have revealed that the supposed ‘human rights’ NGOs are, in reality, filled with antisemitic operatives with deep ties to terrorist groups fixated on destroying the State of Israel.” [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]

Senate will try to advance Trump’s border funding request next week

(Worthy News) – The Senate next week will try to advance President Trump’s emergency spending request to deal with the massive surge in illegal immigration on the Texas border.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said the Senate Appropriations Committee will author and vote on a supplemental spending bill for the border, where more than 100,000 illegal immigrants each month have been apprehended.

Trump sent a $4.5 billion request for emergency funding earlier this year and hoped lawmakers would include it in a disaster aid package. It includes money to help agencies deal with the surge in illegal immigration. It does not include funding for a wall or other border structure. [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]

House passes bill to increase security for churches, synagogues, and mosques

(Worthy News) – The House passed a bill Monday that increases security for churches, synagogues, and mosques amid an increase in the number of targeted attacks on places of worship globally.

The Securing American Nonprofit Organizations Against Terrorism Act of 2019 creates a $75 million grant program under the Department of Homeland Security to financially support the security needs of religious organizations. The bill had wide-ranging support with 86 Democratic co-sponsors and 18 Republican co-sponsors.

“In just the first six months of 2019, the level of bloodshed in places of worship has shocked the world. It’s painfully clear that these houses of worship are under threat of violence committed by terrorists of all extreme ideologies,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the sponsor of the bill. “Synagogues, mosques, and churches need our help and protection just to stay safe. Nobody should feel threatened while praying.” [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]
