Russia and China Oppose ‘Unilateral’ Moves By US On Iran

by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – Russia and China are concocting a plan to circumvent US sanctions on Iran.

In early May Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese State Councilor Wang Yi met in Sochi to discuss ways to replace the US petrodollar with the Chinese yuan, euro, and Russian ruble, in a bid to effectively nullify penalties on countries buying Iranian oil.

A later summit between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, on June 14, 2019, in which Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also participated, emphasized the need for “re-shaping the world order” perceived to be suffering under the burden of American hegemony, in the words of Russian and Chinese officials.

“The parties emphasize the need to protect their mutually beneficial commercial and economic cooperation with Iran and firmly oppose the imposition of unilateral sanctions by any states,” read a statement from the conference according to Russian Interfax news agency.

Questionable support of Iran by Russia and China dates back to the Islamic Revolution of 1979, when China was one of the few countries to supply the burgeoning theocracy with weapons. Russia, for its part, helped to build Iran’s Bushehr nuclear facility in 2015.

Israeli laser system to protect NATO tanker transport aircraft

(Worthy News) – A laser system designed by Israel’s Elbit Systems to protect aircraft against infrared missiles will be implemented in NATO’s Multinational Multi Role Tanker Transport Fleet (MMF) starting in 2020, the company announced this week.

In a three-day series of flight tests for the new system at the end of May, the system was integrated into Airbus-manufactured A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft. J-Music functioned flawlessly throughout the tests, proving itself capable of defeating multiple threat types. It successfully handled simultaneous threat scenarios and overcome head-on, tail-on and side-on threats from a number of several ranges and at different altitudes. Migratory birds may be spreading superbugs, researchers warn

(Worthy News) – Urban wildlife such as birds and bats may be spreading superbugs around the cities of developing nations because of poor management of human and animal waste, researchers have warned.

A study in the Lancet Planetary Health journal shows that seed-eating birds, scavenging birds such as storks and fruit bats in Nairobi, Kenya, carry high levels of bacteria such as E. Coli that are resistant to antibiotics.

While the study does not show that these resistant bacteria have been passed from wildlife to humans the study warns that a superbug could emerge from the “brew” of wildlife, livestock and humans that live cheek by jowl in the sprawling cities of developing nations. Parents take school to court for teaching their 6-y-o girl gender fluidity, causing her distress

(Worthy News) – An Ontario couple has filed a complaint in the provincial Human Rights court against the school system after their six-year-old daughter was taught gender fluidity in class and started worrying she might not be female.

During a 1st grade class at Devonshire Community Public School in January 2018, a teacher presented a YouTube video on gender called “He, She, and They?!?—Gender: Queer Kid Stuff #2” which was part of the lesson plan that day, according to Canadian columnist Barbara Kay, who interviewed the girl’s mother, Pamela Buffone, in the Post Millennial Monday.

Among the statements presented as fact in the video were “some people aren’t boys or girls,” and some do not feel like they are a “he” or a “she” and because of that may not have a gender. The young girl, who was thoroughly confused, told her mother that the teacher, who kept teaching this kind of gender theory throughout the semester, would tell the class that “there is no such thing as girls and boys” and “girls are not real and boys are not real.” [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]

Fed wary of economic clouds, but leaves interest rates unchanged for now

(Worthy News) – The Federal Reserve is holding its benchmark interest rate steady, although policymakers indicate a willingness to loosen the monetary reins if U.S. economic growth sags.

While the economy remains strong, “uncertainties about this outlook have increased,” the Fed’s rate-setting body said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon after two days of deliberations. “In light of these uncertainties and muted inflation pressures, the Committee will closely monitor the implications of incoming information for the economic outlook and will act as appropriate to sustain the expansion.”

The current Federal funds rate is set in a range between 2.25% and 2.5%. When the Fed adjusts that rate, it changes the private borrowing costs for everything from mortgages and credit cards to home equity lines of credit. Lowering the rate can help stimulate the economy as well as increase inflation, which remains shy of the Fed’s target of 2% a year. [ Source: CBS News (Read More…) ]
