Sweden Chip Prefigures Mark of the Beast?: 4,000 Swedes Take Chip Implant in Hand

by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – A chip many Christians believe could be a prototype for the mark of the beast has been implemented in Sweden, where more than 4,000 citizens have had a chip the size of a grain of rice inserted into their hands.

The chips are part of Sweden’s march toward a cashless society, and are designed to eventually include metrics for health, personal financial data, and keycards for office buildings.

“It was fun to try something new and to see what one could use it for to make life easier in the future,” Ulrika Celsing, who now uses the chip in her hand to enter her workplace at global media agency Mindshare, told AFP.

Last year, Wisconsin-based company Three Square Market had 50 employees injected with a chip that CEO Todd Westby said: “will become standardized allowing you to use this as your passport, public transit, all purchasing opportunities, etc.”

“It’s the next thing that’s inevitably gonna happen,” he said.

Currently, only 1% of Sweden’s economy consists of notes and coins, but it hopes to go to 0 as it pioneers its own brand of e-currency, the “e-krona.”

Revelation 13:16-17 (NKJV) reads: “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

U.S. House passes $733-billion defense policy bill after Trump threatens veto

(Worthy News) – The U.S. House of Representatives approved a $733-billion defense policy bill on Friday, defying President Donald Trump’s veto threat by including provisions like a clampdown on funding for his planned wall on the border with Mexico.

The House passed its version of the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, by a 220 to 197 vote, without a single Republican voting in favor of the bill and after some of the most liberal Democrats opposed it as they pushed for a reduction in defense spending.

Republican opposition to the bill sets the stage for a stiff fight over its provisions later this year that could threaten Congress’ record of passing the NDAA annually for nearly six decades. [ Source: Reuters (Read More…) ]

Britain to send second warship to Gulf amid rising tension with Iran

(Worthy News) – Britain is sending a second warship to the Gulf amid rising tensions with Iran, as it said it was discussing with the US the possibility of building up its military presence in the area.

Relations between Tehran and the West have come under increasing strain after UK authorities seized an Iranian tanker in Gibraltar heading for Syria and a Royal Navy ship was harassed by Revolutionary Guards in the Strait of Hormuz.

The HMS Duncan, a Type 45 Destroyer and one of the most advanced warships in the world, will sail to the Gulf in the coming days to provide support to the HMS Montrose. It is understood it was due to travel to the region, but its deployment was brought forward in light of recent events. [ Source: UK Telegraph (Read More…) ]

US House votes to limit Trump’s ability to strike Iran

(Worthy News) – The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives voted Friday to put a liberalized stamp on Pentagon policy, including a bipartisan proposal to limit US President Donald Trump’s authority to make war against Iran.

The measure passed along party lines after a series of votes that pushed it further to the left. Among them was a 251-170 tally to require Trump get authorization from Congress to conduct military strikes against Iran, along with a repeal of a 2002 law authorizing the war in Iraq.

More than two dozen Republicans joined with Democrats on the Iran vote. Trump last month came within minutes of launching a missile strike against Iran in retaliation for Tehran’s downing of a US drone. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Religious ‘nones’ increasing nationwide

(Worthy News) – Those with no particular religious affiliation, often called “nones,” continue to grow in number in the United States, new data show.

Eastern Illinois University political science professor Ryan Burge explains in an essay for Religion in Public that while much of the media often frames the statistics that nones now constitute the largest religious group in the U.S., the reality is much more complicated. Nevertheless, the trend is clear.

Self-identified nones made up 22.2% of Americans in 2008, Burge noted; today they comprise 29.5%. [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]
