New York City Legalizes ‘Third’ Gender ‘X’ on Birth Certificates, Mayor Signs Bill

(Worthy News) – As of Jan. 1, 2019, the “third” gender, designated as “X” instead of “M” or “F,” will be an officially recognized option for birth certificates in the largest city in the United States.

Bill DeBlasio, mayor of New York City, signed into law a bill that allows persons who self-identify as transgender or “non-binary,” those who do not consider their gender to be male or female, to change their biological sex listed on their birth certificates without a doctor’s note or affidavit.

The city council approved the measure, which was sponsored by council Speaker Corey Johnson, with a 41-to-6 vote last month. [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]

Koreas to reconnect roads, rail, U.S. concerned over easing sanctions

(Worthy News) – The two Koreas agreed on Monday to begin reconnecting rail and road links, another step in an improving relationship in spite of U.S. concerns that the rapid North-South thaw could undermine efforts to press North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.

The agreement on transport links came during talks in the border village of Panmunjom aimed at following up on the third summit this year between South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, last month.

“The South and North reached the agreement after sincerely discussing action plans to develop inter-Korean relations to a new, higher stage,” said a joint statement released by the South’s Unification Ministry. [ Source: Reuters (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – Republican lawmakers have hinted for months that the FBI failed to provide federal judges on the surveillance court with information that undercut the government’s premise for opening the Trump-Russia probe in 2016.

Republicans have suggested in interviews that the information related to George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign adviser whose conversation with an Australian diplomat prompted the FBI to open its investigation into the Trump campaign.

Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe provided Sunday the clearest picture to date of what the FBI allegedly withheld from the surveillance court. [ Source: Daily Caller (Read More…) ]

EU paves way for Russia sanctions over chemical weapons

(Worthy News) – The European Union on Monday unveiled a legal framework to allow sanctions against the use of chemical weapons.

The framework gives the EU the power to place restrictive measures on people or entities identified as being involved in the development or deployment of chemical weapons, regardless of their location or nationality, EU foreign ministers said in a press release.

It is important “to make clear that something like this can’t be left unpunished,” said German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. [ Source; Deutche Welle (Read More…) ]
