Atheists Put an End to Police Prayer Vigils, but Fail to Stop ‘Pastors on Patrol’

(Worthy News) – A police department in Louisiana will no longer host or promote citywide monthly prayer vigils following a complaint from one of the nation’s leading atheist groups.

The Shreveport Police Department, which is led by Baptist pastor and Police Chief Alan Crump, has agreed to no longer organize prayer gatherings after it received a letter from the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation.

The letter was sent in late August and objected to the fact that the police department “organizes and promotes prayer vigils” on behalf of about 20 pastors who are involved in the department’s “Pastors on Patrol” chaplaincy program, according to KTBS. [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]

Former LGBT People Now Christians to Share Message of Jesus’ Love in LA

(Worthy News) – A group of ex-LGBTQ people are getting ready to take the streets of Los Angeles, California to declare the transforming power and love of Jesus Christ.

The march takes place on Nov. 4 and will feature worship, praise, and testimonials from people who call themselves former homosexual, bisexuals, and transgender individuals. Each person comes from different parts of the country but all of them have the same message — there is freedom from sexual confusion and sin through Jesus.

It is the second Freedom March since the first one in May, which took place in Washington D.C. It featured two survivors of the Pulse nightclub shooting, who say they left behind their LGBT lifestyles after the attack to have a transformative relationship with Jesus.
