US Supreme Court Upholds Landowners Property Rights Against Gov’t Overreach

(Worthy News) – The Supreme Court has given a victory to private property rights.

The nation’s highest court ruled unanimously in the case of Weyerhaeuser vs. the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

The justices determined the government overstepped its authority by declaring 1,500 acres of private land in Louisiana as a critical habitat for a frog that questionably can’t even survive there. [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]

US to Appeal Judge’s Order Barring Asylum Restrictions

(Worthy News) – The Trump administration says it will appeal a court order barring the government from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally.

The Justice Department filed a notice Tuesday saying it will appeal the order to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. It also asked U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar in San Francisco to issue a stay of his Nov. 19 order.

European politicians call for new sanctions on Russia over Ukraine

(Worthy News) – Several senior European politicians on Tuesday raised the possibility of new sanctions against Russia to punish it for capturing three Ukrainian vessels at sea, an incident the West fears could ignite a wider conflict.

A Russian minister said further sanctions would solve nothing and that the incident should not be used to derail the Minsk accord, which aims to end fighting in eastern Ukraine between Kiev’s forces and pro-Russian separatist rebels.

Russian assets have come under pressure on financial markets amid concerns that possible new sanctions could hurt the economy, though the rouble on Tuesday clawed back some earlier losses as investors bet any sanctions would not be swift. [ Source: Reuters (Read More…) ]

Trump to meet Putin, snub Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed at G-20 summit

(Worthy News) – President Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin but not with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the G20 summit this week, the White House said Tuesday.

The snubbing at the G20 meeting in Argentina is the first sign that relations with the crown prince are on the skids after he was potentially implicated in the assassination of Saudi dissident writer Jamal Khashoggi, although Mr. Trump has said he is not planning to cut off arms deals and other economic ties with the kingdom.

“The president’s schedule is pretty packed and has a number of sessions that he will be involved in with the G20,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

She wouldn’t rule out “interaction” with the crown prince during the summit that opens Friday. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
