(Worthy News) – Thousands marched in Washington calling for a shutdown, but not the government’s. They want to shut down the abortion industry. And President Donald Trump threw his support behind their effort at this 2019 March for Life.

At the pre-March rally, Vice President Mike Pence made a surprise appearance on stage, saying, “We gather here because we believe as our founders did that we are all of us, born and unborn, endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, and one of these rights is the right to life.”

Then he introduced a special guest who addressed the crowd from the White House.

“This is a movement founded on love and grounded in the nobility and dignity of every human life,” President Trump said. “When we look into the eyes of a newborn child, we see beauty and the human soul and the majesty of God’s creation. (Worthy News) – Trying to find a solution to the shutdown standoff on its 29th day, President Donald Trump offered a new proposal to Democrats Saturday afternoon. In exchange for his $5.7 billion southern border wall, he’s offering protections for “Dreamers” — young people brought into the country illegally by their parents over the next three years.

The proposal is an effort by the White House to bring Democrats back to the negotiating table to bring an end to the shutdown.

(Worthy News) – A massive swarm of locusts and cockroaches has descended on Mecca, one of Islam’s holiest cities in Saudi Arabia, prompting officials there to deploy specialized sanitation crews to tackle the plague.

“We have harnessed all efforts available to speed up the eradication of the insects in the interest of the safety and comfort of guests to God’s house,” said a statement released by Mecca’s municipal authority.

(Worthy News) – Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah sent US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a letter in late December rejecting future American financial assistance, citing the 2018 US anti-terrorism law ATCA.

The Anti-Terrorism Clarification Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump back in October and recently approved by the US Congress, would enable American authorities to seize assets from any foreign “terrorist entity” that receives financial aid from the US government. (Worthy News) – Massive Israeli airstrikes on Syria destroyed weapons stores and military positions belonging to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah terror group, a war monitor said Monday.

The Israeli military said early Monday it was carrying out strikes against Iran’s Qud’s Forces, in a rare statement on its military activities in Syria.

“The Israeli missiles managed to destroy weapons depots and military posts of the Iranians and the Lebanese Hezbollah in the vicinity of Damascus International Airport and the area of Al-Kiswah and Jamraya,” the Britain-based Observatory for Human Rights said. [ Source (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – President Trump spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Sunday about a “negotiated solution” for Syria, where the withdrawal of U.S. troops has alarmed Kurdish allies of America who are considered terrorists by the Turks.

In a phone call, Mr. Trump “underscored the importance of defeating terrorist elements that remain in Syria,” the White House said.

About 2,000 U.S. troops have been fighting the Islamic State in northeast Syria with the help of Kurdish fighters, near the border of Turkey. (Worthy News) – Trump administration and North Korean officials held their first “working level” talks on denuclearization over the weekend in Sweden, preparing for the second summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that U.S. officials says is slated by the end of February.

Although the administration was mum on the talks in Stockholm, which represents U.S. interests in North Korea because Washington has no embassy there, South Korean media and foreign diplomatic sources said Stephen Biegun, U.S. special envoy for North Korea, met with North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui.

Coming on the heels of a separate meeting Friday between President Trump and former North Korean spy chief Kim Yong-chol in Washington, the Stockhom talks are the latest sign of serious diplomatic movement in the otherwise stalled U.S. and South Korean push to get Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear weapons. (Worthy News) – Vice President Mike Pence’s wife was the target of criticism this week after she announced that she would be teaching art at a private conservative Christian school, and the Vice President is stepping up to defend her.

Karen Pence announced this week that she would be teaching art at Immanuel Christian School which requires its applicants to sign a document signifying that they believe marriage is between one man and one woman and that they would not promote “transgender identity.”

(Worthy News) – The Communist government of China is continuing forcing Christians to replace posters of Jesus Christ with Communist leaders, and is turning pulpits into entertainment venues.

Religious liberty magazine Bitter Winter reports that Chinese authorities are going from town to town, demanding that Christian icons be replaced with pictures of Chairman Mao Zedong and President Xi Jinping.
