(Worthy News) – A Pakistani Christian mother and wife was abducted on February 25th and forced into marriage with a Muslim and was only restored to her family after her husband called the police and threatened to light himself on fire.

Naveed and Saima Iqbal, who live in New Iqbal Town in Islamabad, await a decision by a Pakistani court to nullify her marriage to Muhammad Khalid Sati, a Muslim man who was arrested on March 5th.

“I will fight until I get justice,” said Mr. Iqbal, who has been married to his wife for 15 years and has appealed to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, as well as the Chief Justice about the legitimacy of a marriage ratified without his or his wife’s consent.

Often used as a tool for converting Christian and Hindu women under the auspices of Islamic law, forced marriage remains a problem in Pakistan, where an estimated 700 Christian women are kidnapped and coerced into marrying Muslim men every year, according to a 2014 report from the Movement for Solidarity and Peace in Pakistan.

Between 3,000 to 4,000 Pakistani believers have fled conditions in their home country, which has the highest rating for violence against believers in Open Doors U.S.A.’s score system for persecution, and now await refugee status from the UN in neighboring Thailand.

(Worthy News) – Republicans in Congress are giving President Trump the cold shoulder as he pushes them into another risky political battle to replace Obamacare, insisting they won’t act until the White House delivers a detailed proposal.

The Trump administration is pursuing a federal lawsuit that could invalidate the Affordable Care Act signed by former President Barack Obama nine years ago, removing popular coverage protections for Americans with pre-existing medical conditions. Fearing a voter backlash, Republicans who for years championed repealing the law are balking at the president’s latest attempt to fulfill a 2016 campaign promise, believing the window for success has closed.

(Worthy News) – President Trump is taking an unprecedented step to protect America’s electrical grid with a new executive order to prevent electromagnetic pulse attacks (EMP).

On Tuesday, the president signed the order directing all federal agencies to identify threats posed by EMPs, which experts say could be potentially dangerous to the US electric grid and other infrastructure systems. Trump’s directive orders the government agencies to find ways to guard against electromagnetic attacks.

(Worthy News) – Britain’s Parliament on Wednesday turned down multiple alternatives to the government’s twice-rejected deal for leaving the European Union, leaving the future of Brexit more uncertain than ever.

The House of Commons took over Brexit from Prime Minister Theresa May, who had failed to secure approval of a deal.

(Worthy News) – The story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director turned pro-life advocate, is powerfully portrayed in the upcoming film “Unplanned,” a story birthed by thousands of hours of fervent prayer.

Shawn Carney is the man behind many those prayers. He heads the 40 Days for Life campaign that began in Texas in the fall of 2004. The organization holds continuous, round-the-clock 40-day prayer campaigns every fall and during Lent. As intercessors, they peacefully pray outside abortion clinics, petitioning God to intervene and save the lives of the unborn children and their mothers.

(Worthy News) – The United States came under sharp criticism from the 14 other Security Council nations Wednesday for its decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights in violation of council resolutions.

Speaker after speaker at the open meeting supported Syria’s sovereignty over the strategic plateau and opposed Israel’s de facto annexation of the Golan Heights and US President Donald Trump’s proclamation earlier this week.

(Worthy News) – Syrian air defense batteries opened fire on “hostile Israel missiles” near the northern Syrian city of Aleppo on Wednesday night, the official news agency SANA reported. The site has been targeted before and is believed to be an Iranian base.

SANA said the airstrike targeted several bases near an industrial zone by the airport and that air defenses had managed to intercept several incoming missiles.
