Iraqi Christian Survives Immolation Three Times Due to Appearances by Jesus in His Dreams

by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) –
“Hearts and Hands: Iraq,” a new documentary by Sean Feucht at Bethel Music, tells the story of an Iraqi Yazidi man who survived being burned alive three times after ISIS fighters found out about his Christian faith.

The man was bludgeoned with large stones then drenched with 20 gallons of gasoline and set alight on three different occasions, but miraculously survived unscathed, a circumstance he credits to appearances by Jesus in his dreams.

“I cannot tell you what He said, it’s a promise between me and Christ,” declines the man when Feucht probes him for details in the interview.

“They burned me, but I didn’t burn.”

Feucht related the plight of Yazidis in Iraq to Fox News, which had been exponentialized for the man in the interview by his conversion to Christianity.

“The Yazidis…were really targeted by ISIS for genocide,” said Feucht. “ISIS didn’t even want to imprison them, they just wanted to kill them, wipe them off the map.”

The documentary is expected to be released later this year by Feucht and his crew under the auspices of the Light a Candle Project, which “exists to bring hope and sustainable change in the darkest corners of the world,” according to its website.

B-52, aircraft carrier in Mideast over Iran conduct exercise

(Worthy News) – The U.S. military says a B-52 bomber and an aircraft carrier dispatched to the Mideast over a perceived threat from Iran have conducted a joint exercise together in the Arabian Sea.

The Air Force said in a statement Sunday that the exercise saw F/A-18 Super Hornets, MH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters and E-2D Growlers from the USS Abraham Lincoln fly with the B-52 bomber.

The Air Force says the aircraft also “simulated strike operations” in the exercise, which took place on Saturday. [ Source: Fox News (Read More…) ]

US, Mexico officials to begin talks over tariffs, border

(Worthy News) – Top officials from the U.S. and Mexico will begin talks Monday in a scramble to fend off President Donald Trump’s threat of devastating tariffs on imports from the southern ally and meet his demand for fewer migrants at the border.

Trump is heading to London for a long-planned overseas trip, leaving others to stem a potential trade crisis. It’s unclear what more Mexico can do – and what will be enough – to satisfy the president. Trump’s Republican allies warn that tariffs on Mexican imports will hit U.S. consumers and harm the economy.

The president all but taunted negotiators for a quick resolution. “Mexico is sending a big delegation to talk about the Border,” the president tweeted Sunday. “Problem is, they’ve been ‘talking’ for 25 years. We want action, not talk.” [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

Biden Declares LGBTQ Rights His No. 1 Legislative Priority

(Worthy News) – Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden declared Saturday that the Equality Act would be his top legislative priority, an effort to enshrine LGBTQ protections into the nation’s labor and civil rights laws.

The former vice president shared his hopes of signing the legislation as part of a keynote address to hundreds of activists at the Human Rights Campaign’s annual Ohio gala on the first day of Pride Month. In a half-hour at the lectern, his remarks ranged from emotional tributes to his audience and their personal endurance to condemnations of President Donald Trump.

“It’s wrong and it is immoral what they’re doing,” Biden said of the Trump administration. Among other Trump polices, he cited attempts to bar transgender troops in the U.S. military, allow individuals in the medical field to refuse to treat LGBTQ individuals, and allow homeless shelters to refuse transgender occupants. Judge Says Missouri Clinic Can Keep Providing Abortions

(Worthy News) – A judge issued an order Friday to keep Missouri’s only abortion clinic operating over the objections of state health officials, delivering abortion-rights advocates a courtroom victory after a string of setbacks in legislatures around the U.S.

St. Louis Circuit Judge Michael Stelzer said Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis clinic can continue providing abortions despite the Missouri health department’s refusal to renew its license over a variety of patient safety concerns. He said the temporary restraining order was necessary to “prevent irreparable injury” to Planned Parenthood.

With the abortion license set to expire at midnight Friday, Planned Parenthood pre-emptively sued this week and argued that the state was “weaponizing” the licensing process. Planned Parenthood said that absent court intervention, Missouri would become the first state without an abortion clinic since the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized the procedure nationwide. [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]

Pompeo: Trump admin willing to talk to Iran ‘with no preconditions’ as tensions hit boiling point

(Worthy News) – Just weeks after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced a renewed “pressure campaign” targeting Iran’s energy sector, America’s top diplomat said Sunday the Trump administration is willing to talk with Iran “with no preconditions” — but he added that debilitating sanctions that have crippled Iran’s economy will remain in effect.

The U.S. is “prepared to engage in a conversation with no preconditions; we’re ready to sit down” with Iran’s leaders, Pompeo said at a press conference. He warned, however, that “the American effort to fundamentally reverse the malign activity of this Islamic Republic, this revolutionary force, is going to continue.”

The dramatic development comes amid rapidly escalating tensions between Iran and the United States. President Trump fired a social media broadside at the Iranian regime in May, vowing that war between Washington and Tehran would result in “the official end of Iran” before warning, “[n]ever threaten the United States again!” [ Source: Fox News (Read More…) ]

Nasrallah Says Hezbollah Has Precision Missiles That Could Strike Targets Throughout Israel

(Worthy News) – Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on Friday that his Shi’ite organization has enough precision missiles to hit all the targets it has marked throughout the State of Israel.

Speaking at a nighttime rally in Beirut to mark Quds, or Jerusalem day, the leader of the Lebanese group said that the missiles could “change the face of the region.”

The Islamic Republic initiated Jerusalem Day in 1979, and it marks it annually on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. The day’s goal is to express solidarity with Palestinians as well as resistance to Zionism and to Israel. [ Source: Ha’aretz (Read More…) ]

In seeking to deter Israel and the US, Hezbollah may be risking regional war

(Worthy News) – The rockets fired at Mount Hermon on Saturday are an indication as to what Iran is trying to push Syria to become: a testing ground for experiments in the battle against Israel and the United States, with the help of the pro-Iranian militias it has established there.

Israel is following with great concern the latest developments in Iran’s continued attempts to entrench itself militarily in Syria. Israel isn’t alone — Moscow shares this concern, and is also worried that Syrian President Bashar Assad is letting the Iranians do as they wish in his own territory.

The Israel Defense Forces thwarts much of the Iranian effort, at least according to foreign reports. Tehran’s intended construction of factories for precision missiles was prevented for now, as were many of the shipments of precise weapons. Proof of that could be found on Saturday, as non-precise rockets were fired toward Israel from deep in Syrian territory and one of them landed inside Syria. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Saudi king says will reject US measures that ‘prejudice’ Jerusalem

(Worthy News) – A Saudi-hosted Islamic summit on Saturday threw its support behind Palestinians ahead of a US-led peace plan Arab leaders suspect to be skewed in favor of Israel, as Muslim states rallied around Saudi Arabia over tensions with Iran.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting, the third and final Iran-focused summit in the holy city of Mecca this week, denounced controversial US moves to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem and recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

The summit of the 57-member bloc, marked by the notable absence of Iranian and Turkish leaders, called for a “boycott” of countries that have opened diplomatic missions in the city. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More…) ]

Stocks plunge as China trade war and Mexico tariffs fuel a ‘triple hit of bad news’

(Worthy News) – US stocks fell sharply on Friday after the Trump administration threatened tariffs on all imports from Mexico if the country did not do more to reduce illegal crossings at the southern US border. China’s confirmation that it has planned out how to restrict America’s supply of critical rare-earth metals, and a decline in Chinese manufacturing in May, also weighed on markets.

All three of the major averages were down at least 1.3%, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing lower by more than 350 points. Friday’s sell-off pushed the S&P’s May loss to 6.5%, and closed the chapter on the index’s first down month since December.

“On June 10th, the United States will impose a 5% Tariff on all goods coming into our Country from Mexico, until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP,” President Donald Trump tweeted. “The Tariff will gradually increase until the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied at which time the Tariffs will be removed.” [ Source: Business Insider (Read More…) ]
