Republicans Secretly Study Potential Investigations if Dems Take Control of House

(Worthy News) – Congressional Republicans are getting ready for hell. Axios has obtained a spreadsheet that’s circulated through Republican circles on and off Capitol Hill — including at least one leadership office — that meticulously previews the investigations Democrats will likely launch if they flip the House.

Why this matters: Publicly, House Republicans are putting on a brave face about the midterms. But privately, they are scrambling to prepare for the worst. This document, which catalogs requests Democrats have already made, is part of that effort.

The spreadsheet — which I’m told originated in a senior House Republican office — catalogs more than 100 formal requests from House Democrats this Congress, spanning nearly every committee. [ Source: Axios (Read More…) ]

More floods threaten Hawaii as tropical Storm Lane drifts away

(Worthy News) – Tropical Storm Lane, greatly diminished from the major hurricane it once was, drifted away from the Hawaiian coast on Saturday, but lingering showers threatened to trigger more flooding and landslides.

The National Weather Service (NWS) lifted all remaining tropical storm warnings and watch advisories for Hawaii as trade winds finally began to nudge Lane off to the west.

But a flash flood watch remained in effect for Oahu, home to the state capital Honolulu and 70 percent of Hawaii’s 1.4 million residents, through Sunday morning, emergency management officials said. [ Source: Reuters (Read More…) ]

European Aid To Iran Sends Signal To United States

(Worthy News) – The European Union’s decision to transfer millions of dollars in aid to Iran is a symbolic move intended to undermine the United States’ strategy of pressuring Tehran into re-negotiating the nuclear deal, analysts said.

Last week, the bloc announced it would provide the Islamic Republic with 18 million euros ($21 million), part of a larger package of 50 million euros the EU has earmarked for the Iranian regime over the coming months. The move follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision in May to withdraw from the atomic pact devised by world powers.

Foreign affairs experts believe the EU’s economic aid to Tehran sends a political message to Washington. [ Source: Media Line (Read More…) ]

Israel’s water sources rapidly drying up

(Worthy News) – The Water Authority announced Sunday that even if the coming winter brings average precipitation, or even above average, the hydrological drought will continue.

They said that the Kinneret is drying up at a rapid pace and approaching its black line. They added that an accurate weather forecast for the coming year will be available next month.

The Water Authority said that the deficit in Israel’s natural water reserves, after five consecutive drought years, is substantial. The Authority said that even given one average rainy year and the continued cessation of pumping from the Sea of Galilee to the national water carrier, the sea will remain below the lower red line by the end of next winter. UNREAL! This Man Has Been Threatened with Eviction for Holding a Bible Study

(Worthy News) – A retired pastor in Virginia is facing potential eviction from his senior living community for hosting a Bible study.

Attorneys say residents at Evergreens at Smith Run in Fredericksburg, Virginia asked Ken Hauge to lead a Bible study in the complex’s community room last year in January 2017.

More than a year later, in July 2018, the Evergreens living community adopted a new policy prohibiting residents from engaging in activity “for religious purposes” in the Community Room.

Lawyers say, that same day, Hauge and his wife, received an eviction notice informing that the realtor considers the Bible study a “business activity” which is prohibited by his lease. [ Source: CBN News (Read More…) ]
