Rod Rosenstein asks DOJ inspector general to review possible Trump campaign infiltration

(Worthy News) – Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein asked the Justice Department’s inspector general Sunday to review whether there was improper politically motivated surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

Rosenstein made the request shortly after a tweet from President Trump saying that he would “officially” ask “that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes.”

In a statement, Rosenstein said: “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.” The attorney general, Jeff Sessions, has recused himself from Russia-related matters. Mike Pompeo threatens Iran with ‘strongest sanctions in history,’ outlines new nuclear demands

(Worthy News) – Saying the 2015 Iran nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration had “fatal flaws,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday announced that the Trump administration was preparing “the strongest sanctions in history” if Tehran does not change its destabilizing ways and forever abandon its drive for nuclear weapons.

Unveiling the promised Plan B after President Trump defied America’s European allies and took the U.S. out of the pact this month, Mr. Pompeo listed 12 pointed demands on Tehran that the Islamic republic immediately and heatedly rejected.

The list called on Iran to stop all nuclear programs “in perpetuity” and reveal all of its past programs to obtain a nuclear bomb; to provide “unqualified access” for international inspectors to any suspect site inside Iran, including military bases; to halt the development of nuclear-capable missiles; to release all American and allied citizens held in Iran; and to halt a broad range of destabilizing moves throughout the Middle East, including Iran’s military support of Syria and its backing of proxy forces such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi rebel forces in Yemen. Outing of FBI informant underscores British spy service’s ties to shadowy Trump investigations

(Worthy News) – Britain’s spy service’s connections to shadowy investigations into Donald Trump have grown stronger with the revelation that academic Stefan Halper was spying on the president’s campaign and doing it on British soil.

Mr. Halper, an American national security scholar whom the U.S. government has awarded contracts for classified projects, spied for the FBI, press reports say. He is a partner in Cambridge Security Initiative, a London consulting firm.

His partner is Sir Richard Dearlove, who directed Britain’s foreign spying operation known as MI6, the country’s CIA, from 1999 to 2004. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
