A New Perspective on Constantine

(Worthy News) – There will be a joint Jewish-Christian list that will run in the next general election, after the party registrar’s office recently approved the candidacy of a new party called The Bible Bloc Party (Gush Hatanachi in Hebrew.)

The party will seek the support of non-Jewish Russian immigrants from the former Soviet Union and their spouses and Christian Arabs. Party founder Dennis Avi Lipkin, who is a veteran speaker to Evangelical Christians in the US, said he believes he will also receive support from millions of Western immigrants who he expects will move to Israel in the near future.

“Our goal is to promote the Jewish-Christian alliance and togetherness,” Lipkin said.

“For 2,000 years, Jews and Christians hated each other. When Israel faces an existential threat of Islamic terrorism, we need a Judeo-Christian love party.” [ Source: Jerusalem Post (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is working on plans to reduce U.S. aid to countries that refuse to cooperate with U.S. immigration authorities.

Speaking at an immigration roundtable focused on the MS-13 gang, Trump suggested a policy of withholding aid from countries that don’t help prevent immigrants from illegally entering the United States and refuse to accept U.S. deportations.

“We’re going to work out something where every time someone comes from a certain country, we’re going to deduct a rather large amount of money from what we give them in aid — if we give them aid at all, which we may not just give them aid at all, because despite the reports I hear, I don’t believe they’re helping us one bit,” Trump said. “We’re looking at our whole aid structure. (Worthy News) – Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday said North Korean denuclearization is the “top national security priority,” but the Trump administration is also focused on “appropriate countermeasures” to anticipated Russian meddling in the 2018 midterms, knuckling down against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s power grab in Caracas and much, much more.

The secretary said the administration is holding to its plan for a major summit with Kim Jong-un on June 12, but will “walk away” if the North Korean leader is not serious about denuclearization.

“A bad deal is not an option,” Mr. Pompeo said. “The American people are counting on us to get this right. If the right deal is not on the table, we will respectfully walk away.” [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – A move by Facebook and Google to restrict political advertising ahead of Ireland’s fiercely contested abortion referendum Friday has outraged critics, who call it the latest example of the social media giants’ power to put a heavy digital thumb on the electoral scales — even when they strive not to get involved.

The restrictions are being introduced in one of the most hotly contested national votes in recent memory. Irish voters will be heading to the polls to consider easing some of Europe’s most restrictive laws on abortion.

Irish abortion opponents say the online restrictions, including Facebook’s ban on all ads on the referendum from foreign groups and fact-check stories, were clearly intended to benefit the pro-choice side. [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
