U.K.’s May Seeks Deal With Labor to Break Brexit ‘Logjam’

(Worthy News) – Shortly after midday Wednesday, Theresa May will have a good idea whether her attempt to save her Brexit deal has any chance of success.

On Tuesday evening, she abandoned her strategy of making Brexit a project of her Conservative Party and Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionists, apparently accepting that this will never gather enough votes to get through Parliament, and asked Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour Party, to rescue her.

At noon, the pair will face each other across the House of Commons, for her weekly Prime Minister’s Questions session. His approach, and her response, will offer a clue as to how their talks about a joint Brexit approach are going to go. But only some of May’s enemies will be facing her. Behind her on the Conservative benches will be plenty more opponents. Their anger — or silence — will be a guide as to whether her new strategy can survive. [ Source: Bloomberg (Read More…) ]

Born Again Christians Continue Declining, Only Minority Believe They Must Share the Gospel: Survey

(Worthy News) – The percentage of born again Christians in America continues declining, a major religious survey has found. And only a minority of the faithful believe they have a strong personal responsibility to share the Gospel.

“Christianity in America is going through a time of substantial challenge. The Church at-large is not likely to grow in the future unless some fundamental changes in practice are made,” said researcher George Barna, speaking about the American Culture & Faith Institute survey results released Tuesday.

“Fewer churches emphasize and equip people for evangelism these days, and the results are obvious and undeniable. The implications of ignoring gospel outreach — especially among children, who are the most receptive audience to the gospel — are enormous. All the ‘church growth’ strategies in the world cannot compensate for the absence of an authentic transmission of the good news of what Jesus Christ has done for humanity.” [ Source: Christian Post (Read More…) ]
